Job Description: Midwifery Trainer
JEAO is actively involved in the Community-Based Nursing School project (CNS) across Badakhshan, Ghor, and Paktika. This initiative aims to enhance women’s income-generating capacities by developing professional nursing and midwifery skills, ultimately contributing to improved maternal and infant health in rural and remote areas.
Job Responsibilities: As a Midwifery Trainer reporting to the Provincial Coordinator (Midwifery), you will:
- Implement midwifery training activities in alignment with JEAO values, policies, and health standards.
- Develop curriculum, schedules, and lesson plans for theoretical and practical training sessions for 30 students.
- Execute classes and curriculum based on the approved plan.
- Supervise trainees during theoretical and practical work, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Develop and administer weekly, monthly, and final examinations.
- Conduct frequent monitoring and evaluation to track student progress.
- Provide regular progress reports to the project coordinator.
- Undertake additional tasks assigned by the line manager.
Competencies: Your qualifications should include:
- Demonstrable knowledge management in healthcare, midwifery, nursing, and healthcare.
- Inclusive attitude and ability to collaborate with diverse groups.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
Qualification/Experience:
- Registered Midwife.
- Minimum three years of teaching/training experience, preferably with a recognized university or international organization.
- Educational certificates (ETS, EOC, IPC, IPCC/BCC, RMC) would be a plus.
- Proficient communication skills in Dari/Pashtu (written and oral); English language skills are desirable.
- Computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel.
