About MMRCA: Background Information:
Medical Management and Research Courses Afghanistan (MMRCA) is a national, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit, and humanitarian organization established in 2008. In 2022, it was registered in the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan. MMRCA is dedicated to implementing health projects, with a focus on HIV, malaria, and TB across different provinces in Afghanistan.
Currently, MMRCA is actively involved in the HIV Project, specifically scaling up interventions among Key Affected Populations in Balkh and Kundoz provinces. In line with this, MMRCA is seeking a qualified Outreach Worker to provide essential HIV prevention services at the PWIDs DIC in Kundoz province.
MMRCA extends an invitation to eligible candidates to apply for the position of Outreach Worker under the HIV Project situated at PWIDs DIC in Kundoz Province.
Job Description: Specific Responsibilities:
- Adherence to internal MMRCA and MOPH rules and policies.
- Full-time and night duty as per the schedule.
- Preparation and implementation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly action plans with outreach tools.
- Promotion of an enabling environment and facilitation of safe access for teams and clients in PWIDs DIC.
- Provision of awareness and health education services for PWIDs clients focusing on harm reduction and HIV prevention.
- Distribution and collection of Harm Reduction kits for PWID clients regularly.
- Referral services from outreach areas to OST centers for MMT services.
- Provision of Harm Reduction and HIV/AIDS Services for PWIDs and other KAPs.
- Record-keeping of provided services at PWIDs DIC and Outreach.
- Ensure excellent communication with the team and target group.
- Follow infection prevention procedures and waste management.
- Preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
- Participation in training sessions and knowledge transfer to other staff.
- Attendance in official meetings, workshops, and harm reduction events.
- Immediate identification and reporting of any issues hindering program objectives.
- Any other related duties assigned by the line manager.
Professional Competencies:
- Fluency in Dari/Pashto and English languages.
- Baccalaureate/Bachelor degree.
- One year of work experience in a related field.
- Training in Harm Reduction, HIV/AIDS, and Drug Addiction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Preference given to native residents.
Job Requirements:
- Baccalaureate/Bachelor Degree.
- Fluent in Dari and Pashto, with working knowledge of English.
- One year of work experience in Outreach Activity or Health Management field (HIV, Harm Reduction, Oral Substitution Therapy, etc.).
