About Social and Humanitarian Assistance Organization: Social & Humanitarian Assistance Organization (SHAO) is a distinguished non-governmental and non-profit humanitarian social welfare organization registered as an Afghan NGO with the Ministry of Economy (MoEc), Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Founded on January 22, 2009, SHAO operates from Kandahar and has successfully executed projects across the Southern, Central, and Northern regions of Afghanistan. Our initiatives span diverse areas, including child protection, community education, gender equity, WASH, health/hygiene, capacity building, livelihood, and advocacy. Currently, SHAO is committed to addressing the challenges posed by COVID-19, internal displacement, and cross-border illegal immigration, with a particular focus on vulnerable communities, child protection, gender mainstreaming, and youth participation.

Job Description: As the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the Livelihood Support to Vulnerable Households (LSVH) project, funded by UNDP NCCSP. Reporting directly to the Head of Programs (HOP) through the Programs Coordinator (PC), you will be responsible for project planning, implementation, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation of activities. Your role involves collaboration with the HOP, donor agencies, and government-related ministries and directorates. Key responsibilities include building upon the current project, ensuring its success, and contributing to SHAO’s mission of making a positive impact in vulnerable communities.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum seven years of general work experience.
  • Minimum three years of Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in M&E tools, methodologies, and approaches (quantitative, qualitative, and participatory).
  • Medium-level proficiency in spoken and written English; advanced knowledge highly preferred.
  • Excellent language proficiency in spoken and written Dari and Pashto.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Internet usage.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, and respect for colleagues.
  • Self-disciplined, motivated critical thinker comfortable working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to field regions as required.
